Improvising From A Score

With jazz music, a score, or lead sheet, indicates basic chord changes, and arrangements of a song without specifying how the song should be performed. Now imagine a score written for a quilt! Learn basic ruler-free patchwork techniques and how to set limits that support your creative flow. Finding flow not only feels great, it actually quells the urge to plan ahead. Leave with the confidence to create your own improv patchwork scores for exploring flexible patterns.

Modern Quilting with Curves and Circles

Does the thought of sewing curves give you anxiety? Don’t fear the curve!  Learn tips and tricks to create a fantastic curves and circle, while making modern blocks. This is a good class for quilters who have never sewed curves or those who want to gain more experience. For this class you will be making a wall hanging size quilt top.

Improvisational Free Form Piecing

Take a break from the traditional quilting and come and try free form piecing. We will be piecing without “pre-determined” sizes. You will have the freedom of cutting you pieces to the size that you want at the spur of the moment. This will also be your one of a kind quilt. There are no patterns involved and no real planning involved. You just need to have an open mind and a creative spirit.
